Corporate sponsorship of Omega Dubai Ladies Masters for 6th consecutive year contributes to social and economic development of the Emirate.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: For Dubai Aluminium ("DUBAL")
- the entirely state-owned enterprise that operates one of the
largest single-site primary aluminium smelters in the world - the
2011 Omega Dubai Ladies Masters Golf Tournament, held from 14 to 17
December, provided yet another opportunity to express its corporate
commitment to the social and economic development of Dubai. So says
Mohammed Yahya (Manager: Corporate Relations & International
Affairs), who explains, "As a proudly UAE and inherently
responsible corporate citizen, DUBAL has invested time, financial
resources and expertise in community-based initiatives that support
the broader goals of the Dubai government for more than 30 years.
Our efforts are targeted largely at establishing Dubai as a
world-class leisure, sporting and business hub major. This
tournament, which we have sponsored since its inauguration six
years ago, provides a high-profile platform for achieving this
objective."
Yahya goes on to say that there are strong parallels
between DUBAL and the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. "Both our company
and the tournament are relatively young in global terms, yet both
have earned international respect and renown. This reflects our
mutual belief that being a world-class competitor requires
dedication, focus and commitment. Just as the Omega Dubai Ladies
Masters has increasingly attracted the world's top lady golfers
over the years, so DUBAL has grown in terms of market share," he
says. "Today, our company competes in the highest echelons of the
global aluminium market, not just in terms of production volumes
but also the superb quality and premium purity of our
products."
As in prior years, DUBAL leveraged its sponsorship of the
golf to build relationships with the company's local suppliers and
business associates. "We invited these valued partners to our
hospitality chalet, giving them the opportunity to watch the 2011
Dubai Ladies Masters tournament in a very comfortable setting,"
Yahya explains. "It's just one of the ways in which we express our
gratitude for their support, which helps us nurture long-term
mutually-beneficial partnerships."
DUBAL is also a sponsoring partner of the annual 2012
Dubai Desert Classic Golf Tournament, which is scheduled to take
place at the same venue from 09 to 12 February 2012. The event
marks the 21st consecutive year of DUBAL's involvement
in the tournament, having been a major sponsor since
1992.
