Each of DUBAL's successive expansion projects to date has
featured enhanced in-house reduction cell technologies that are
capable of operating at increasingly higher amperages with
associated growth in production capacity. Without exception, the
operating amperages of the D18, CD20, CD26 and D20, reduction cells
within DUBAL's smelter at Jebel Ali exceed their respective design
specifications; thereby enabling annual production levels that are
consistently higher than official capacity.

DX Technology
Our Technology Development and Transfer Department's independent
research and development activities are focused on developing
reduction cell technologies that offer improved productivity,
capacity and efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of
environmental conservation. These efforts have produced, inter
alia, proprietary DUBAL DX Technology, with the first generation DX
Technology cells having been commissioned in 2005 as prototypes in
a five-cell pilot operation. Read more
Technology Transfer
DX Technology has been specified for the green-field smelter
developments to which DUBAL is committed through its alliance with
Mubadala Development Company. A holistic approach has been adopted
for the technology transfer process: DUBAL's reduction cell
technology license agreements provide a license to use the
company's state-of-the-art technology, complemented by
comprehensive engineering and operation documentation; full
engineering services for commissioning, start-up and operations;
extensive training and skills development; plus access to ongoing
technical support from DUBAL. Read more
